Fluid is the Best Bar None

With another bank holiday over many of us will have taken advantage of the surprising spell of good weather to sample some of the region's beer gardens so here at uniquethinking we've been asking the pertinent questions, what makes a good bar?

We're proud to be working with Newcastle pub operator Fluid Group, which was recently voted 'Best Operator' at the 2009 Best Bar None Awards, working in conjunction with the police and the local authority, for their promotion of responsible drinking and ensuring a safe and fun environment for its customers

The owners of Fluid Group, which owns several of Newcastle's most popular bars including Barluga, Perdu The Mushroom and Fluid Bar, say their committment to customer wellbeing and safety is one of the key reasons behind their success.

Fluid Group is no stranger to awards and as well as Best Bar None, Barluga took home the 'Best Interior' accolade at the North East Restaurant Awards earlier this year voted for by the public.

So a safe environement and a creative interior are two key reasons to visit a bar on a regular basis and here at uniquethinking we would add to that a varied drinks menu, attractive promotions, friendly staff and good music.

Raise a glass to the Fluid Group and tell us what you think makes a great night out.

Congratulations Number 52!

Here at uniquethinking, we think of ourselves as specialists in the leisure and hospitality industries and one of our clients has really put this to the test over the last few months!

Used to working for bars, restaurants and family-focused tourist attractions, this year has seen us working on a campaign for Number 52, Newcastle's newest gay sauna.

We were tasked with arranging every aspect of Number 52's launch, including website design, advertising and pre- and post- launch PR.

A little creative thinking and some invaluable media connections later, and we have achieved some great results for the sauna, launching the website and securing editorial coverage in regional gay and lifestyle publications, as well as national magazines and online sites.

What's more, the sauna has attracted more than 200 members in less than two weeks so all that's left to do is say a huge thank you to all the guys that modelled for us ...

Underwear with attitude

Now we're (finally!) up and running we'll be digging out all the pictures, videos and opinions we've been desperate to share over the last few weeks.

Last week's scandal over Marks and Spencers bra prices definitely got us talking in the office, not least because our client, Trina Lamacq has just launched No Rock and Roll, an online underwear shop aimed at sassy young women with big busts.

With our help, Trina's created a one stop shop for all things underwear, stocking funky brands such as Freya, Lepel and Panache in sizes D+ as well as cup-sized swimwear, all at great prices!

Now we're working with Trina to accelarate awareness of the site and encourage sales through PR, advertising and online marketing, recently comissioning a great photo shoot to showcase Trina and her products ....

Marks and Sparks may have apologised for their boob, but Trina's offering a free gift on any orders over £35 so get clicking girls!
